This beginner crochet sweater pattern is incredibly versatile as it can be worn year round and it is an easy sweater to dress up or dress down. The simple stitching gives this sweater a modern and minimalist look that is a great staple in any wardrobe! Flattering and comfortable to wear, this sweater only uses one stitch which makes it a great project for beginners!

Even though it is spring and a lot of crocheters are turning to more springy and breezy crochet pieces, I thought I would still release this top because this sweater really is great for the warmer months!
This top is made with Lion Brand’s Coboo yarn, which is 50% cotton/50% bamboo. This yarn is a great yarn for making garments for the warmer months. It is very cool and breathable and great for those crisp mornings and chilly evenings.

I have been wearing this sweater almost non-stop this spring. This beginner crochet sweater pattern is so versatile and that it can be worn a ton of different ways. Wear this top with a skirt for a breezy, spring look; some jeans for a cute/casual vibe; or with your favorite leggings for a comfortable at-home look.

This sweater is crazy easy to make. It only takes one stitch and that it the single crochet stitch, it’s that easy! Also there is zero shaping (with the except simple increases in the sleeves), which makes this sweater a great mindless project.

I generally design more over-sized pieces, but since I wanted to be able to wear this in the spring, I opted for a more fitted sweater. If you would like and over-sized fit, size up! I also decided to make mine a little more cropped than what I normally do, but if you would like to make yours longer, simply add rows to the front and back panels.
