This easy crochet basket pattern is a free pattern. The Boho Cottage Basket is the perfect addition to any room. Inspired by classic wicker baskets, this basket is both fresh and modern. The basket is roomy, which is great for those ever-growing WIP piles, and sturdy for years of use.

If you know me, then you know that I like to have everything organized and in its place. Something that always drives me crazy is I never really have a dedicated place for all of my crochet WIPs (work-in-progress).
I was inspired by some wicker baskets I saw on Pinterest and I knew I wanted to recreate them in crochet. I have never made a basket with this boho style, but I gotta say, I’m obsessed. It’s so fresh and modern!

I had quite a bit of this Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in my stash, and I knew that it would be perfect for this easy crochet basket pattern. To make this basket sturdy to endure a lot of use, I made used two strands of yarn held together. I also used a smaller hook to create tight, dense stitches.

I think this basket would be perfect in a summer beach house or cottage. I think it has such a refreshing, summer vibe to it.
I wanted my basket to be pretty roomy (to store lots of WIPs!), but the pattern is very easily adjustable to make it bigger or smaller.

Is the 800 yards the total amount you need without doubles or do you need 1600 yards?
Yes the 800 yards is the total amount that you will need
Help? Not sure what I’m doing wrong. But it’s just a big circle! I’m on round 19 and it’s flat, not standing up for the sides.
Hello Charity,
Keep going! It should take a few more rows for you to start seeing the shape take place.
