This striped sweater crochet pattern is beginner friendly and so comfortable to wear! Enjoy leisure strolls through autumn’s beauty or sip on some hot apple cider while wearing the Foliage Sweater. Available in 6 sizes, this sweater in unbelievably easy to make with minimal shaping. This pullover works up quickly so you can enjoy every last bit of fall wearing the Foliage Sweater.

If there was a garment that perfectly represents fall, it would be this sweater! The rich hues of this sweater is exactly like that of the autumn foliage. While this sweater is simple in design (perfect for beginner garment makers!), this has been one of the more challenging garments I have ever designed.
If you take a peak into my pattern archives, you will find that most of my patterns use only 1-2 colors. This is because it is so much easier to choose 1 color for a project. One color makes projects more mindless to crochet and design. Additionally, crocheting with minimal colors reflects my simplistic style, which centers around wardrobe basics.

However, I really wanted to push myself to design something with multiple colors. Coincidentally, one of my favorite parts about designing this sweater was choosing the colors. Because I usually only crochet with 1-2 colors, I never get the joy of putting different color combinations together, so it was equally refreshing and challenging.
This striped sweater crochet pattern is beginner-friendly and is easily customizable!
I had a lot of fun putting the colors together for this sweater, and I learned a lot about choosing colors for projects. I’m considering making an entire post on this topic with all of my tips and tricks, let me know if you would be interested in the comments!

Thank you to Lovecrafts for providing the yarn for this project.
What a beautiful sweater! I can NOT wait to get started! Thank you!
You didn’t say if the yarn is Sports or wool
Well, it looks like they are all wool. Silly me. My bad. I’m going to have to look for a blend.
Hello, I’m attempting to make this pullover (1st time I make a garment) for my daughter, but having a difficult time selecting the size. She wants it a little oversized, so I’m including her actual and (finished) size in inches, and asking for your guidance.
Bust 38.5 (43.5)
Waist 28.5 (40)
Hips 34.5 (40)
Arm length from armpit 19 (20)
Garment length (finished) 23.5
Also not clear on what the neck looks like. Can you please describe it?
I’ll wait for response before starting. Hope to hear back soon.
Excited to make this beautiful pullove.
Hello Susana, if she wants it oversized, I’d probably crochet the large size 🙂
