This air plant basket holder crochet pattern is the perfect accessory to hold all of your little air plants! Inspired by the popular belly basket style, these little baskets use only single crochets, making these baskets very easy to crochet! Using scraps of yarn, you can whip up this free crochet pattern up in less than 30 minutes.

The idea for this little basket came from my need for a holder for one of my air plants. Naturally instead of purchasing a holder, my mind went to what I could make. Crocheting a belly basket popped into my head and I instantly knew that I had to crochet it! After a little experimenting, I finally came up with the cutest little belly basket design!
This air plant basket holder crochet pattern is extremely easy (they only use the single crochet stitch!) and quick (make one in less than 30 minutes!) to crochet. Also, because they use such small amounts of yarn, they are the perfect stash busting project.

I understand that air plants come in all shapes and sizes, I created a basic size that should fit many air plants. This pattern is a template that can be customized to fit any size of air plant. This can easily be done by adding an extra round at the base and adding another round on the sides.
I hope you enjoy the free pattern below!

Hello! I’m attempting to follow this pattern for a small gift for my mother and I’m having some difficulty. If this pattern meant to be worked in a magic circle? Is round 1 meant to have 7 sc in the second ch? I’m just very confused haha
Hello! You can make a magic circle and then work 7 sc into the circle, or you can ch 2 and work 7 sc into the first ch. It’s just two different ways of starting in the round! 🙂
