Christmas is just a month away! I thought it would be fun to curate a gift guide specifically for makers and exclusively sharing items from small businesses! I’ve always loved shopping small, but this year specifically it has almost become a hobby for me. I’ve almost enjoyed making the purchase, knowing that I’m supporting another individual over actually receiving the time (but don’t get me wrong, I still love receiving my goodies!).
Because these are small businesses, some may sell exclusively from pre-orders or collections. Because of this, they may not have something specific that you would like, but consider asking for a gift card to the specific shop or money to put aside for a certain product from a business when they release a collection that you love!
Stitch Markers
Stitch markers have become one of my weaknesses lately. I have been a crocheter and knitter for YEARS and I am just now discovering how much I love using a progress keepers on my projects! I am slowly working on growing my little collection of stitch markers and you better believe that Simply Servings ADORABLE stitch markers will be on my list!

Hand Dyed Yarn
Is a gift guide for makers (specifically knitters and crocheters) complete without yarn? I receive plenty of yarn throughout the year so receiving yarn for Christmas is not as special UNLESS it’s hand dyed yarn! I adore receiving and using hand dyed yarn. It brings me so much joy and of course I love supporting the dyers through making with their yarn 🙂 A yarn dyer that I have been loving recently is Coast to Coast Yarn Company. Erin has an array of colorways, all the way from subtle neutrals to bright, contrasting colors.

Candles
A cozy atmosphere is never complete without the heartwarming aroma of a candle burning! These candles from Wool and Wax all have such cozy and comforting scents and names that would be so perfect to burn through the cold winter days.

Buttons
You might be wondering who would want to receive buttons as a gift? Well I don’t think anyone can resist beautiful buttons! How fun is it to receive adorable buttons and you get to dream up the PERFECT project for them? I am absolutely drooling over Denim and Rain’s buttons. They are so original and they are the perfect accessory to make any project special! (Side Note: I recognize that most of Denim and Rain’s buttons are out of stock as she mostly operates on collections and launches. However her buttons are too cute not to feature!)

Ceramic Mugs
If there is one thing I can’t resist is it a cute ceramic mug. I love sipping my morning coffee out of a vessel that was mindfully made by the hands of another artist! Over the years I have collected a nice little collection of ceramic mugs and I have found that they are THE BEST quality and most are dishwasher and microwave safe! And how cute are these mugs from Utopia Life Studio?

Tea
A cozy, winter night of making is never complete without a cup of tea! With my love of literature being just as prominent as my love of making, I couldn’t resist highlighting the adorable tea shop, Steeped in Lore Co that sells teas based on classic stories, such as Lord of the Rings (my favorite story of all time haha 🥰)

Wool Wash
Using wool wash for blocking is a new-to-me product to use for blocking my crochet and knit projects. Sewrella Yarn’s has some of the BEST wool wash that exists!

I hope you find some inspiration from this little gift guide!
