Learn how to crochet the granite (also known as the moss stitch) in today’s video tutorial!
As I see crochet patterns on Instagram or Pinterest from fellow crochet designers, I have noticed the influx of patterns that use the granite stitch (also known as the moss stitch). It is an easy, mindless stitch that creates this almost knit-like texture that is also reversible. So now wander it has become a favorite stitch pattern among crocheters! (and yes, even I am currently designing a project with this yarn!).
To make learning this stitch super easy, I have created a video tutorial where I demonstrate the granite stitch, but I have also included written instructions down below, if you would like to see the stitch pattern written out:)
Clover Amour crochet hook (I used J/6.00mm)
Sc: Single crochet
Ch in multiples of 2+1 (For this sample I crocheted 20 + 1 for the turning ch)
Row 1: 1 sc in third ch from hook. *ch 1, skip st, 1 sc in next st* repeat to the end of the row. You should end with a sc in the last ch. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: *1 sc in the ch space, ch 1* repeat to the end of the row. Ch 2, turn.
Continue repeating row 2 until you have reached your desired length.
