I’m just going to say it, I have a *slight* obsession with tote bags, especially crochet totes. Not only are they so much fun to crochet, but they are a practical and cute accessory. I consider summer to be peak tote bag season (even though they are practical year round!), so I thought it could be helpful to compile a list of 10 beautiful tote bags that are easy, modern, and beautiful. And of course, they are all free crochet patterns!
Summer Harvest Market Bag
The Summer Harvest Bag is one of my most popular patterns to date! And for good reason, this tote is easy, mindless, and so much fun to crochet! I love using this tote throughout the summer for pool trips and visits to the farmers market.
Gingham Tote Bag
This gingham tote bag is so sweet, and can you imagine all of the color combinations with this tote?? I can never turn down anything gingham, so of course I had to include this bag on the list! This bag is designed by the talented HayHay Crochet.
For a more elegant tote, try this lovely bag pattern by Crochet with Carrie! With the combination of the shape and texture, this would be the perfect bag for situations where you need a more elevated look (while still having plenty of room to haul around all of your belongings🙈
Harbor Tote Bag
The Harbor Tote is my most used crochet bag. I really focused on designing an insanely durable bag that could carry a lot of weight without significant stretching. You hold two strands of yarn together throughout the entire pattern, the base is doubled, and the leather handles minimize the stretching. If you need a durable bag, this is the one for you!
I love the simplicity of this market bag by Mall Knits. The beautiful eyelet stitch pattern, adds a sweet feminine touch, without being too much.
Don’t Mesh With Me Bag
I felt like it wouldn’t be a proper tote bag list, without a mesh market bag. In my opinion, these mesh market bags are one of the most iconic crochet projects. I love this specific design by MJ Off the Hook as it nods towards the popular mesh bags, but its quite different than the other ones out there!
Sturdy Market Bag
I have been obsessed with this tote ever since Delia Creates released this pattern. It’s rustic, sturdy, and quick to work up! I love the use of a wool blend yarn, as it differentiates the look from most bags that are made out of cotton yarn.
Two Of Wands never fails to design stunning and unique tote designs. I was especially drawn to this design as the shape is so unqiue and definitely the perfect statement accessory.
Summer Breeze Tote
Isn’t this bag, designed by A Crochet Simplicity, simply stunning?? The floral, openwork design adds the perfect amount of femininity charm. While this may not be practical when toting around heavier items, but this would be the perfect bag for transporting projects!
Lucy Tote Bag
While this bag looks complicated, the construction is actually quite easy! This bag designed by Evelyn and Peter Crochet and I love how this simple texture and striping of this bag.
That’s it! I hope you found some inspiration in this post. Please let me know in the comments, I would love to hear which tote bag you want to crochet!
