The Lillian Cardigan is like wearing a cloud! Fluffy and dreamy, this cardigan is such a darling sweater to make and wear this season. Made with a simple 2 row repeat this cardigan is designed with simplicity in mind with lots of room for customization in the pattern. Written in sizes XS-4X this free crochet pattern is simple, quick, and fun to crochet!

After I designed the Lilith Cardigan (my favorite cardigan for summer!), I knew I wanted to crochet a warmer version for the colder months. Through some trial and error, I think I have achieved the coziest cardigan with the Lillian Cardigan! This free crochet pattern is soo easy to crochet. With no shaping used in the construction, once you master the 2-row repeat you can effortlessly crochet this cardigan!
What makes this cardigan so fluffy and cozy is the yarn! I tried several different yarns before settling on Bella Bounce by Universal Yarn. This yarn has the dreamiest halo with a beautiful color selection. Truly this cardigan feels like you’re wearing a cloud thanks to the yarn!

- The ch sts worked in between dc sts count as a st, but are not worked as sts.
- Stitch Count Note: If you need to further adjust the amount of stitches in a row for your desired fit, the stitch pattern is worked in multiples of 6 sts + 2 (for example for the foundation ch that would be 18 ch + 2 ch)

If you’re gauge is off, I recommend either going up or down a hook size, depending on whether your gauge is too big or too small. Assembly
Block all of the panels.
Now begin seaming all of the panels together.
NOTE: all of the panels are worked top down. Meaning, that the last row you worked, should be at the bottom of the cardigan.
Lay the front panels on top of the back panel and seam along the shoulder seams and the sides, leaving 6(6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5) inches for the arm hole.

Fold the sleeves together along the long side seam. Sew together.

To sew the sleeve into the cardigan, slide the sleeve through the cardigan and align it with the sleeve opening, with the right sides together. Sew together.

The next step is creating the collar around the entire cardigan. Start at the bottom corner front of the cardigan.
Along the bottom of the cardigan, contine the scalloped pattern. But instead of working a sc st, into a dc cluster, it’ll be reversed to emphasize the scallop.
Join yarn. Ch 1.
1 sc into first st. [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc] into the middle dc of the cluster, 1 sc into the next sc st* repeat around untio you reach the other front corner.

Before starting along collar around the front of the cardigan, try on the cardigan and place stitch markers where you would like your ties to be placed. You can really customize this and add as many or as few ties as you like.

Work 2 sc into the corner and evenly work sc sts until you reach the first st marker.

Once you reach the first st marker, ch 27. Skip the first ch, work 1 sl st into every ch. Sl st into the same st as the last sc worked. Continue evenly working sc sts until you reach the next st marker. Repeat the steps above.

Mark the other side of the cardigan with the stitch markers to align them with the ties. Continue working sc around. Repeat the steps above once you reach the other stitch markers. Sc until you reach the beginning of the round.

Weave in all ends.

I love this pattern! It was so quick to work up, only three days, and it’s so cute! I opted out for the ties because I like open cardigans, but I would definitely make this again!
